Formado na Inglaterra em 1986, o Coffin Nails é uma banda de psychobilly bastante comparada ao The Meteors (para muitos fãs, os pais do psychobilly) , pois era uma das poucas a tocar com baixo elétrico na década de 80. A grande diferença está em suas letras engraçadas e músicas com muitas variações de velocidade e andamento.

O Coffin Nails foi uma das primeiras bandas a combinar a cultura psychobilly com a do skate.
